 | Mustache is quite the dare devil. While he often likes to chill on the back porch, these days he ventures out to our fire pit, into the woods when we are out, and last night was keeping my husband company while he dug a ditch for a new water line. |
My husband continues to adamantly claim that he does not like animals. Obviously this is a false claim on his part and with each day that passes a little more of his soul becomes an animal lover. He has been fascinated with Mustache lately and will call me over when this cat is getting into another predicament.
Usually he will find Mustache and Pumpkin snuggled up on the back porch with Jovie (one of our Saint Bernards). It is amusing to find them like this because as soon as I walk onto the porch both of the cats race away like they have been caught doing something naughty.
Last night Shannon was out (in the dark) trying to get the last bit of the ditch dug for a new waterline. This part of the ditch had to be dug by hand since it needed to go under an existing fence, and Mustache felt that company would make the job go quicker. I walked out to see the progress of things and this cat was running around the pile of accumulating dirt, racing back and forth to the porch, and watching my husband with great intent.
Maybe one of these days I will be able to have an inside cat, one that will curl up next to me on the couch, one that will keep my feet warm at night, and one that inevitably, Shannon will love.
