This is the second installment of Ellie and Dublin's adventures. Moving away from Indianapolis was not an easy decision to make, but it was definitely the right one. Not only did the lives of Ellie and Dublin become wonderful, but mine did as well.
What a good life.
The next morning Ellie and Dublin were ready to go on their daily walk and pranced around waiting for Libby to get their leashes. Once they were both on a leash they walked outside and Libby walked them straight to her car and had them climb in. Well, since they were not going on a walk a car ride was the next best thing.
About an hour and a half later Libby pulled up to an old red farmhouse and let the two dogs out. Waiting for her at the end of the driveway was Shannon and both the dogs really liked Shannon so they ran to him at full speed. He opened up a large gate and let the dogs run down a long grassy trail that went into the woods.
Ellie and Dublin had so many things that they wanted to explore, but the first thing they saw that caught their eyes was a small creek. Dublin ran as fast as he could then plopped down in the middle of the fresh, cool water. Ellie did not want to get her feet wet so she carefully walked across using the rocks as stepping-stones then sat down close the edge.
Once they both had their fill of creek water they raced each other back up the trail to the old farmhouse where they were greeted by Libby, Shannon, and the moving van. They watched as all of their things were taken off the van and carried into the house. Libby walked over and sat down with them, “What do you think of our new home? Do you like it?” Both dogs wagged their tails and flopped on their sides.
That night Ellie and Dublin sat on their new front porch next to Shannon and Libby. They listened to the sound of the crickets and sometimes they would try to catch a lightening bug. This was going to be good, they both thought, this was going to be very good.
