Look what was added to our family just in time for Thanksgiving! Not much is cuter than this little bundle of joy and we are lucky to be the family who gets to give her a home. I had absolutely no idea that this was in the works. My husband and I had talked about getting Douglas a wife and breeding them, but I did not think that we would have one this soon. Shannon made up this story about meeting someone to sell my old massage chair. I showed up at the house and when I saw that Shannon was there too I knew something was up, I just did not know it would be this adorable! |
On the ride home from Thanksgiving dinner we again tried to find the perfect name for this puppy. We revisited some of the original suggestions, Dixie was a choice, but my son, RJ (9 year old boy), could not stop laughing, in his head it was “dick see”, so that was definitely not a possibility. We did not need uncontrolled giggling to occur each time that the dog was called over.
Finally after some internet research we came up with Jovie. For those of you who are well versed on the movie "Elf" you should get it immediately, for those of you who have not seen the movie 583 times like we have, Jovie is Buddy the Elf's love interest and eventually becomes his wife. The character is played by Zooey Deschanel and she falls in love with Buddy about midway through the movie. At first she is put off by his antics, she was not at all happy with his appearance in the locker room as she showered, but she ends up falling for his childlike outlook on life. Jovie was fitting for our new addition, especially since she would be married to Douglas and he is not the brightest dog we have owned.
