I needed a solution for this that did not include my pestering and nagging my kids to use the waste paper baskets strategically placed around the house. The solution is simple and the kids remind me to do it when they need a new box of tissues. Make sure that you save the empty tissue box and then you just secure it to the new box of tissues,. Voila, you have a tiny trash can connected to the tissue box; no more tissues on the floor or torn to shreds. This works best with the cube shaped boxes of tissues so keep that in mind if you want to do this trick.
I do not know about you, but when either of my kids have a runny nose I am constantly finding used tissues all over the house. If I do not find them one of the dogs will inevitably find them and proceed to tear them to shreds, and this is always super fun to clean up.
